Biography
Dr. Shirley Kot earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with distinction at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She then completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. She later finished her residency training in Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the University of California, Davis, USA, and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Dentistry.
Dr. Kot performs routine and advanced veterinary dental treatments and has acquired the skills to perform oral maxillofacial surgeries. She received numerous awards and grants during her training, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Journal Award. Besides clinical work, Dr. Kot is also interested in research and teaching. Her research articles have been published in various international journals with high-impact factors. She currently serves as one of the review editors of Frontiers, the scientific journal (Veterinary Dentistry and Oral maxillofacial Surgery section). She also lectures internationally and locally.
Dr. Kot is currently the veterinary dentist at CityU VMC in Hong Kong, and remains as the research affiliate of UC Davis.
