Calvin graduated from School of Energy and Environment in 2017 and attended Imperial College Business School afterwards to pursue his study in climate change and finance. In 2018, he joined China Construction Bank as a management trainee in corporate banking and worked for several business functions within the bank for 2 years. He recently took up his latest position as a relationship manager at the Financial Institutions Group of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

He is a big fan of football and has strong interest in music where he plays and composes music in his free time.

Abstract

It might seem that there is no correlation between engineering and finance. But in fact, these two areas are closely intertwined with each other in many ways in real life situations. The guest will share his own experience in discovering his own interests during his time at the university and his journey from an energy engineering student to a banking professional. He will explore with the audience the future career paths for studying energy and environmental engineering. This talk aims to help students to better understand themselves and discover future career paths which best suits their own interests.
