Two SEE Students Awarded CityUHK-Cambridge Scholarships

Two students from the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) have been awarded the prestigious CityUHK-Cambridge Scholarships, supporting their pursuit of advanced research at the University of Cambridge.
Ms. Carol Wong Wai-kun, a graduate of the Master of Science in Energy and Environment programme, will pursue a Research Master’s degree under joint supervision between City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK)—under the guidance of Professor Steven Wang from the School of Energy and Environment—and the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. Her research will focus on sustainable development and climate change.
Mr. Sun Songling, a recent graduate of SEE, will also pursue a master’s programme at Cambridge as part of the inaugural cohort of scholarship recipients. He has been named to the Dean’s List multiple times, most recently in Semester B 2024/25, in recognition of his outstanding academic performance throughout his undergraduate studies.
The CityUHK-Cambridge Scholarships were established to support academically exceptional students in conducting high-impact research in collaboration with one of the world’s leading universities. The selection process is highly competitive, with candidates evaluated on academic merit, research potential, and alignment with strategic research themes.
These awards reflect SEE’s commitment to nurturing global research talent and fostering international academic partnerships. The School continues to empower students to contribute to sustainable development and energy innovation on a global scale.
