SEE Welcomes New Cohort of MSc Students at Orientation 2026

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) hosted the MSc in Energy and Environment Orientation 2026 on 24 August 2026, warmly welcoming a new cohort of postgraduate students to the School and the wider City University of Hong Kong community. The event offered an engaging start to the academic year, bringing together incoming students, faculty, staff, and alumni to connect and learn about the programme structure, academic expectations, and available support systems.
The orientation commenced with an inspiring opening address by Prof. Benjamin Horton, Dean of SEE, followed by introductory remarks from Prof. Patrick Lee, Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies), and Prof. Wei Wu, Programme Leader for the MSc in Energy and Environment. Together, they outlined key academic resources and opportunities designed to foster both intellectual excellence and professional growth
To support holistic student development, representatives from Student Development Services (SDS) presented tailored career development resources and mental wellness initiatives. Incoming students also gained valuable first-hand advice during a Student and Alumni Sharing Session, where current students and alumni shared practical insights and encouraging reflections on navigating postgraduate life.
The orientation successfully brought together 79 participants, including 15 faculty members alongside students, alumni, and administrative staff, showcasing the vibrant and supportive culture of the SEE community. Participants also completed a Student Engagement Activities Survey to help shape upcoming student-led initiatives and departmental events.
SEE warmly welcomes all new MSc students and wishes them every success in their studies at City University of Hong Kong.
