SEE Student Carol Wu Receives VTech Scholarship Award at 2024/25 Presentation & Networking Event

We are proud to share that Miss Carol Wu Xinran, a Year 4 student at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), has been awarded the prestigious VTech Group of Companies Scholarship 2024/25.
Carol is majoring in Environmental Science and Engineering with a minor in Computing and has been named to the Dean’s List multiple times for her academic excellence. Her final-year project focuses on applying deep reinforcement learning for real-time control of urban drainage systems, reflecting her commitment to smart and sustainable city development. Carol’s academic journey includes an exchange semester at EPFL, a leading public research university in Switzerland, and hands-on engineering internship experience, which have broadened her global perspective and deepened her passion for innovation. The scholarship will support her pursuit of master’s studies, empowering her to build smart, resilient cities through advanced technologies.
Representing SEE at the event was Prof. Jason Lam, Programme Leader and Associate Professor, who joined the ceremony to celebrate this meaningful occasion. To strengthen the partnership between VTech and CityUHK, Dr. Allan Wong Chi Yun, Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of VTech, presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Lam and Mr. Andrew To from CityUHK.
