SEE Hosts Multi-Partner MOU Signing Ceremony to Advance Industry-Academic Collaboration

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) hosted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony on 30 September 2025, bringing together distinguished representatives from seven leading organizations in the sustainability and energy sectors. The event marked a significant milestone in SEE’s ongoing commitment to fostering strategic industry partnerships that advance experiential learning and professional development for students.
Held at the Senate Room of CityUHK, the ceremony was officiated by Prof. Benjamin Horton, Dean of SEE, who delivered the welcome remarks and introduced the MoU initiative. This was followed by a presentation on SEE’s recent achievements and future development, delivered by Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach) of SEE.

The MoUs signed during the ceremony formalize collaborations with key industry partners in support of SEE’s Industry Ready Programme 2025/26. Established in 2021, the programme is a unique initiative developed in close partnership with industry leaders to provide students with intensive training workshops on practitioner-relevant topics. Upon completion of the training, students undertake a two-month internship with participating companies, each aligned with one of two thematic tracks: energy and building energy efficiency or environment and sustainability.
The following organizations participated in the signing ceremony:

- BEAM Society Limited
- Business Environment Council Limited
- Hong Kong Green Building Council
- Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP)
