SEE Dean, Prof. Benjamin Horton, Delivers Keynote Lecture at International Marine Ecosystems Conference

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is proud to share that our Dean, Professor Benjamin Horton, delivered a keynote lecture at the 3rd International Conference on Biodiversity, Ecology, and Conservation of Marine Ecosystems, held from 19 to 23 August 2025 at City University of Hong Kong.

Prof. Horton’s keynote, titled “How 3°C of Global Warming Could Drown Coastal Ecosystems,” was presented on 21 August 2025 at Joseph Lee Hall. Drawing on his extensive research in climate science and sea-level rise, Prof. Horton highlighted the profound risks that global warming poses to coastal and marine ecosystems, emphasizing the urgent need for mitigation and adaptation strategies.

His lecture was well received by participants, sparking meaningful discussions among researchers, policymakers, and environmental professionals attending the conference.
