The ACS Energy Lectureship Award is presented jointly by ACS Publications, the publisher of the flagship journals ACS Energy Letters, Energy & Fuels, ACS Applied Energy Materials, and the American Chemical Society's Energy and Fuels (ENFL) Division. Each year, this award honors an early-career and mid-career investigator for fundamental or engineering energy-related research and development that addresses global energy and chemical challenges. Prof. Wang was recognized for his outstanding contributions to energy storage, and the selection committee was particularly impressed by the impact of his research and by how his dedication and innovative work have not only advanced the field but also addressed critical global challenges in the energy and chemical sciences.

The award was presented at the ACS Fall 2026 Meeting in Chicago, USA, where Prof. Wang delivered a 30-minute keynote lecture highlighting his contributions to the field. The formal award ceremony took place during a host-sponsored cruise event on Lake Michigan. In recognition of his achievement, Prof. Wang received a plaque, an honorarium and an invitation to submit a feature article to the ENFL journals.
