Dr. Liang Dong and International consortium obtain major NSFC-NWO grant on inclusive zero-waste cities

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Dutch Research Council (NWO) have jointly awarded a major grant to an international consortium, headed by the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) in The Netherlands, and Peking University (PKU) in China, for collaborative research on sustainable, inclusive cities. Besides the EUR and PKU, the consortium consists of Delft University of Technology and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) in The Netherlands and, City University of Hong Kong (Dr. Dong's team) and Tongji University in China. The project has a duration of 4 years,kick-off from June, 2020. This joint project aims to develop analytical tools to clarify the effects of emerging waste management systems in cities, design an approach for infrastructure management that is more inclusive, and validate the results in cities in the Netherlands and in China. Pilot projects will be conducted in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag in The Netherlands, and Beijing, Shanghai and Great Bay area in China.
