Dr. Chunhua Liu received Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) 2021/22

Dr. Chunhua Liu, Associate Professor, recently received funding from the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) 2021/22 for his project “Development of a New Integrated Energy Exchanger for Electric Vehicle Charging Station”.

About the Project:
Recently, the development and popularization of electric vehicles (EVs) have been accelerated significantly. However, the development of corresponding charging system is relatively slow. This project will develop a new highly integrated energy exchanger for future EV charging station. The advanced wireless charging, vehicle-to-grid (V2G), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and the cable charging will be integrated together to meet the future needs of EV charging systems.

ITF is administered by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong SAR Government with the aims to strengthen the collaborations among the government, industry, academia and research sectors; and to increase the added value, productivity and competitiveness of our economic activities.

Together with the three awarded projects led by Prof. Alex Jen and Prof. Michael Leung, the School secured four projects from the various schemes of ITF. This highlights our commitment to pursuing research excellence and promoting industrial collaboration to contribute to the development of innovation, technology and related industries.
