Congratulations to SEE faculty members on receiving funding from the Green Tech Fund (GTF)!
Dr. Theodora Nah, Dr. Jin Shang, Dr. Chunhua Liu, Dr. Yun Hau Ng, and Prof. Chak K. Chan, of the School of Energy and Environment at CityU have received over HKD$5M funding from the Green Tech Fund (GTF). This 3-year research project, entitled “Portable and low-cost sensors for the ambient air monitoring of BTEX and other volatile organic compounds”, will develop sensors to speciate atmospheric volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The development of the sensors will help identify the sources of ozone formation and contribute to improving air quality in HK and GBA. Prof. Chan, the Principal Investigator, said, “This project combines the expertise in air quality, materials science, and electrical engineering. The team looks forward to this exciting interdisciplinary project, in collaboration with our partners in the Southern University of Science and Technology (SusTech)”.
The Green Tech Fund (GTF) received over 190 applications in the first round of application. Out of the 14 approved projects, SEE faculty members have been awarded 3 projects with total over HKD$13M funding.
