CityUHK SEE Partners with Sabancı University to Drive Global Sustainability through MOU Signing

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and Sabancı University in Türkiye have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen academic and research collaborations in the fields of energy, environment, and sustainability.
The signing ceremony took place at Sabancı University’s Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, where representatives from both institutions gathered to mark this milestone. The CityUHK SEE delegation was led by Prof. Benjamin Horton, Dean of SEE, alongside Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach), Prof. Shauhrat S. Chopra, Associate Professor and Prof. Kenneth Leung, JP, Director of State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution. The Sabancı University team was represented by Prof. Erkay Savaş, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and Prof. Burç Mısırlıoğlu, among other senior staff from the International Relations Office.
The MOU sets the foundation for future collaboration in student exchange, joint research, and academic engagement. It reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability through international partnership. Following the signing, the two parties exchanged souvenirs and participated in a networking session, culminating in interviews with shortlisted student candidates and a tour of Sabancı University’s research facilities.
This partnership marks a significant step in SEE’s global engagement strategy, expanding its international academic footprint and reinforcing its mission to drive impactful solutions for a sustainable future.
