The Research Committee advises the Academic Policy Committee on policies for the promotion, conduct, oversight and funding of research in the University.
The Committee is supported by College/School Research Committees, which play a significant part in the allocation of funding and the monitoring of the progress of research projects.
Administrative supportive services to these Committees are provided by the Research Grants & Contracts Office.
To deal with the ethical issues and clearance related to the research or course-based activities conducted by staff or students, the Human Subjects Ethics Sub-Committee and Animal Research Ethics Sub-Committee are responsible for providing advice to the University Research Committee on the policy guidelines related to the ethical issues and consideration of the ethical review applications involving human or animal subjects.
