Stars Without A Heaven: Children in the Holocaust

The exhibition “Stars Without A Heaven: Children in the Holocaust” was held from 16 Oct to 14 Nov 2019 in the Wofoo Foundation Gallery of the Run Run Shaw Library, City University of Hong Kong.

The exhibition was held in concerted effort with the Hong Kong Holocaust and Tolerance Centre and CityU Department of English and in cooperation with YAD VASHEM.

With a view to raise awareness of the Holocaust and create a more harmonious society, the exhibition featured a series of exhibition boards that illustrated the diaries, letters, paintings and toys which were owned by the children in the Holocaust during World War II. The exhibition reflected the many facets of childhood during one of humanity’s worst catastrophes, and at the same time, accentuated the themes of survival, optimism and hope.

To support learning, teaching and research of the holocaust history and related topics, the Library has selected a collection of books, DVDs and e-books to put on display.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in and contributed to this exhibition.
