This service is intended to assist CityU staff and students with brief answers to factual questions or suggestions on the use of library resources via e-mail. Most questions will be answered within 2 working days. If you need a quicker response, please visit or call the Reference Desk during service hours at 3442-6415. For more extensive research or term-paper related questions, please come to the Reference Desk or call to schedule an appointment with a staff in the Reference Section.

Instruction on Authentication

Authentication is required to access the Ask a Librarian Online Form. You need to enter the following in the authentication form:

• Your name
• Your CityU ID Number
• Your PIN (The PIN is the password that you use for viewing your circulation record in the CityU Library Catalogue.)

If you have forgotten your PIN, please go to the Circulation Counter of the Library for help.

If you haven't created your PIN before, leave the field "your PIN" blank. Then press the button "Submit". You will be presented another form where you can create your PIN. Once you have created your PIN, take good care of it! It will be needed when you want to access some of the Library online forms, to view your own circulation record in the CityU Library Catalogue, and to remotely access Library-subscribed web-based resources.
