Chinese Wartime Science Through the Lens of Joseph Needham

The exhibition “Chinese Wartime Science Through the Lens of Joseph Needham” was jointly presented by the CityU Library and the East Asian History of Science Foundation Hong Kong. The late Dr. Joseph Needham (1900-1995) was a renowned British scientist who had made enormous contribution to the history of Chinese science and technology.

The exhibition featured 11 display panels which took you through Dr. Needham’s journey in China during wartime. There was also a video which highlighted some of his most notable achievements.

Dr. Needham’s 3-volume work published in year 1931 were on display, with special credits to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The exhibition was also complemented with a selection of books written by Dr. Needham.
