Eligibility

1. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should be a minimum age of 15 and entering a pre-university level equivalent to the following during the Veterinary Immersive Programme year:

• Hong Kong System: Secondary 5 students (HKDSE track)
• American System: Grade 11 students
• British System: Year 12 students (GCE A-Level track)
• Mainland China: Senior 2 students (second year of Gaokao track)
• International Baccalaureate: Diploma Programme (1st year) students
• Macau: Secondary 5 students
• Taiwan: Senior 2 students
• Other systems: Equivalent to the above levels


2. Subject Requirements
Applicants should be currently studying Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics at their respective academic level.


3. Academic Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate strong academic performance.
Required Documents:
• Scanned copies of school examination reports/transcripts for the last two terms (e.g., Final Term of 2024/25 and 1st Term of 2025/26).
• One year of mathematics, biology and/or chemistry courses completed is preferred.
• If documents are not in English, an official English translation must be provided.
• Mainland China: Senior 2 students (second year of Gaokao track)
• All documentation must clearly indicate:
  • Full name of school
  • Full name of student
  • Grading system/scale (e.g., 7 = Excellent; 6 = Very Good; 5 = Good)


4. English Language Proficiency
• If the student’s first language or teaching medium at their home institution is English:
• Please upload a declaration statement or
• a copy of a recent school report/transcript clearly indicating English as the medium of instruction.
• If the student’s first language or teaching medium is NOT English:
  Either
  • One of the following test scores must be submitted:
    • IELTS Academic: Overall band 7.0
    • TOEFL iBT: 100 or above; TOEFL PBT: 600 or above
    • International Baccalaureate Diploma (English Language): Grade 6 in ‘English A’ HL or SL or Grade 7 in ‘English B’ HL
    • GCSE/GCEOL/IGCSE English:
       Grade 6 (Grade B in old GCSE) in GCSE/GCEOL English Language or English Literature; OR
       Grade 6 (Grade B in old IGCSE) in IGCSE English First Language, English Language or English Literature; OR
       Grade 7 (Grade A in old IGCSE) in IGCSE English as a Second Language
      
  Or
  
  • A letter of reference from the home institution attesting to sufficient English proficiency; or a transcript/report showing recent results in English.


5. Reference Letter
• A reference letter from a teacher, school counselor, or equivalent is required.
• The reference should confirm the applicant’s academic and professional suitability for the programme.


6. Vaccination Requirements
INFLUENZA
Participants are required to have had an influenza vaccination within 12 months of the start of the programme.

TETANUS
Participants are required to have had a tetanus booster within the last 10 years of the start of the programme.


7. Visas for overseas participants
Student visas are not required to participate in the programme. Participants from overseas should enter Hong Kong as 'visitors'.
