City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), in partnership with See Change Education, co-organised the SCMUN – Model United Nations Conference and Global Conference Leadership Camp 2025, held from 4 to 10 August 2025. “As co-organiser, CityUHK is delighted to host student delegates from across the globe to collaborate, exchange ideas, and hone essential skills. The University plays a pivotal role in providing our vibrant campus, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert-led lectures to enrich this experience. Our commitment to internationalization and innovation ensures that every participant gains a global perspective, particularly in communication—a cornerstone for success in education, professional careers, and beyond the classroom,” said Professor Chan Chi Hou, Vice-President (Community Engagement).

Thanks to the generosity of the organiser, 14 scholarships were awarded to exceptional secondary students from CityUHK Connect and surrounding community schools, ensuring access to this enriching opportunity for all. Of these scholarship recipients, eight earned awards or honorable mentions for their outstanding performance, with four receiving nominations to advance to the prestigious Oxford MUN, a testament to their dedication and talent.

“Today’s world is grappling with numerous challenges, and the tensions we face highlight its inherent vulnerabilities. This emphasizes the need to cultivate the next generation of diplomatic leaders,” said Ms Rita Pang Yat Sum, CityUHK Council member and Founder of See Change Education.

The 5-day Global Conference Leadership Camp immersed participants in CityUHK’s vibrant campus life. Students attended inspiring talks by Professor Ray Cheung, Associate Provost (Digital Learning), and Professor Chan Ho Man, Department of Electrical Engineering, explored cutting-edge facilities, including State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Health, JCC Clinical Skills Laboratory, CityUHK Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, and JCC Anatomy Laboratory, and stayed in the new student hostel in Ma On Shan. See Change Education provided Model United Nations (MUN) training focused on MUN, data, and communication literacies, complemented by four expert-led masterclasses on AI Literacy, Data Storytelling, Computer Engineering, and Sports and Culture and its Future.
