Professor Jian Wang Awarded Prestigious NSFC Young Scientists Fund (Category B) in 2026

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is delighted to announce that Professor Jian Wang, Associate Professor of SEE, has been awarded the prestigious National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund (Category B) 2026, securing a grant of RMB 2 million in support of his research.

This highly competitive national funding scheme recognises outstanding young researchers with exceptional academic achievements and strong potential to make significant contributions to scientific and technological advancement. Prof. Wang’s success reflects the excellence and impact of his research, as well as SEE’s ongoing commitment to fostering world-class research and nurturing emerging scientific leaders.

The NSFC Young Scientists Fund is one of China’s most prestigious talent and research funding programmes, providing support for promising young scholars to pursue innovative research and contribute to the nation’s scientific and technological development. In 2026, City University of Hong Kong achieved remarkable success in the NSFC funding exercise, securing 55 NSFC grants, with Prof. Wang among the distinguished recipients of the Yung Scientists Fund (Category B).
