Environment Sampling
The poultry team is providing quarterly environmental sampling on each local poultry farms. The fecal samples, tracheal swabs, water samples and other samples are collected for microbiology tests. A disinfection protocol will be formulated based on the results of microbiology tests. Water quality of poultry farms are improved under the recommendations from our poultry veterinarians.

Poultry Farm Visit
There are currently 29 licensed poultry farms in Hong Kong. Since March 2019, the poultry team has been actively reaching out to farmers to introduce our veterinary service.

First Livestock Pharmacy
Supported by the Sustainable Agricultural Development Fund, the Swine Team is excited to announce that the very first livestock veterinary pharmacy is now launched, dedicated to serving Hong Kong local pig farmers.
Pig Farm Engagement
There are currently 43 licensed pig farms in Hong Kong, and roughly speaking, there is an estimated number of 60,000 to 70,000 pigs in Hong Kong. Pig farms in Hong Kong are usually inherited small family businesses.
