MIJAATA Xavier Felixan

McGill University

MIJAATA Xavier Felixan (Data Science) recently completed his exchange semester abroad at McGill University in Canada.️

Participating in the student exchange program at McGill University was a truly challenging yet fun experience. McGill University provided an array of advanced classes that piqued my interests, and I am glad I got to experience such an interactive academic and cultural environment that challenged and inspired me to go out of my comfort zone.

McGill’s coursework encouraged me to think critically and engage deeply with my studies. It taught me essential problem-solving skills and time management. Having Year 4 and post-graduate students, and even actual professors as my classmates, pushed me beyond my boundaries and exceeded my limits. The diverse student body also introduced me to new perspectives from all over the world. I got to meet and connect with different people from diverse backgrounds, and being able to mingle with them was truly a great opportunity.

Beyond academics, life in Montreal was unforgettable. The city’s culture, landscapes, and dynamic social scene made every moment exciting. Its accessibility also helped in visiting different parts of the city and even outside of it. Whether exploring the historic streets of Old Montreal, enjoying old buildings and sites, or embracing nature by hiking or going on a ski trip, I found myself growing in a positive direction.

The exchange experience at McGill was more than just studying abroad; it was also an opportunity for personal growth, lifelong friendships, and an expanded worldview. I walked away with not only valuable knowledge but also memories that will stay with me forever.
