HO Sze Man
HO Sze Man (Bachelor of Arts) took her curiosity abroad and discovered the charm of canals, culture, and creativity at the University of Amsterdam.
A 14-hour flight in late January brought me to the new city of Amsterdam. At the UvA, I took Communication Science and Psychology courses offered by the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The entire exchange journey was truly fruitful and rewarding. I gained a deeper understanding of Communication, including how emotions play a role in Political Communication, the theories and practices of Health Communication, how AI facilitates Strategic Communication, and why organizations under public scrutiny face a crisis of trust—all explored through both Dutch and European viewpoints. Moreover, I learned about Social Psychology from various perspectives, as well as how it influences both ourselves and society.
King’s Day 2025 and the sea of orange became a vibrant and unforgettable highlight of my exchange experience, while the tulips at Keukenhof Garden etched some of my most cherished springtime memories. Beyond Amsterdam and its nearby cities, I travelled through nine countries across Europe. Among my most enduring memories are the breathtaking performance by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in the Great Hall of the Wiener Musikverein , the radiant splendor of Budapest’s Parliament Building, the romantic charm of the Seine River in Paris, and the serene beauty of Norway during the blue hour.
Once again, thank you for this exchange opportunity that led me into the unknown and brought me back with so much.
