HE Siyu
In 2025 Spring, HE Siyu (Computer and Data Engineering) joined CityUHK’s Student Exchange Programme at University College London (UCL), UK.
Participating in the exchange at UCL was one of the most transformative experiences of my undergraduate studies.
Academically, I had the opportunity to enroll in postgraduate-level courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning, which significantly challenged and deepened my technical understanding. The Multi-agent AI course, in particular, broadened my perspective on game theory and intelligent decision-making, while engaging in intellectually stimulating conversations with professors and PhD students.
Beyond the classroom, I took part in HackLondon 2025, one of Europe’s largest hackathons, and collaborated with talented students from across the UK and Europe. I also explored many of London’s iconic landmarks and immersed myself in its rich cultural atmosphere. Though adapting to a new environment, time zone, and winter-to-spring transition was challenging at first, I gradually grew to love the rhythm of life in London.
This exchange not only strengthened my independence and global outlook, but also reaffirmed my desire to pursue further studies in AI. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and highly recommend it to any student who seeks both academic growth and cross-cultural discovery.
