Financial Matters
Host universities shall waive the tuition fees for exchange students. Students just need to pay the normal tuition and other study-related fees to CityUHK during the exchange period. Exchange students are also responsible for financing their travel, accommodation, living expenses, visa, insurance, books, etc.
Estimated Expenses
The table below shows the average exchange-related expenses (including airfare, accommodation, meal, living expenses, student visa, and other exchange-related items) in different regions based on surveys conducted with returned exchange students. The figures provided below are for reference only:

Point to Notes
- The funding listed is only eligible for claiming within one year from the beginning of the exchange term, except for year-long exchange students who will be given four more moths for the claim.
- The University reserves the right to withdraw and/or request a full or partial refund if students fail to fulfill the SEP or funding conditions and criteria concerned.
- The University has full discretion to adjust the actual amounts of funding to be provided to students.
- Students participating in virtual exchange programmes are not eligible for funding allocation.
- Detail funding allocation and disbursement arrangements will be shared with students in the Pre-application Information Sessions and Pre-departure Briefing Sessions.
