Emperor Qin's Mausoleum and the Terracotta Army

JIAO Nanfeng graduated from Northwest University, China, in 1982, and then worked at the Shanxi Archaeology Institute. He had served as President of the Institute from 2001 to 2009, and as an elected executive member of the council of the Chinese Archaeology Association. He is very experienced in archaeological excavation and research of the Qin and Han dynasties. He once headed the investigation, drilling, and excavation of the Han Dynasty Emperor Jing’s Mausoleum area and Western Han tombs. While excavating, he and the team worked for the preparation of an archaeology exhibition gallery of the Hanyang Mausoleum, supervising the construction work and display of artefacts for the Hanyang Mausoleum Museum. JIAO served as director of the museum from 1999 to 2002.

JIAO has published many papers, books, and archaeological reports focusing on Qin and Han research and the mausoleum system.
