CityU Badminton Team has achieved extraordinary results in the sports arena. In this year’s badminton tournament organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK), CityU’s badminton teams won the “Small Grand Slam”– a term referring to winning champion titles in both men’s and women’s divisions. The heroes behind the scene are a group of CityU students who love the sport.

Leading Men’s Badminton Team is team captain Yeung Ming-nok who was also awarded the “Best Badminton Player of the Year”. Ming-nok has been an exceptional badminton player since secondary school and was therefore admitted to CityU through the Student Athlete Admission Scheme.

Recently, Ming-nok has been selected as a member of the Hong Kong Badminton University Team, to participate in the 29th Summer Universiade to be held in Taiwan in August 2017.

Ming-nok’s achievements go beyond university level competitions. In light of his excellent results in the local open badminton competitions, Ming-nok has been recruited to the Hong Kong Badminton Team where he receives intensive training.
