Study Load

• All non-local students holding a student visa for full-time studies must observe the minimum study load for full-time students in accordance with Section 10 of the University’s Academic Regulations.
   
• Exceptions for reduced study load are permitted for the final graduating semester upon approval by the Head of academic unit or as determined by the College/School Dean(s) in any semester for students in academic difficulty.
   
• Non-local students' applications for extension of stay are subject to the approval by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government. Before applying for a reduced study load in a semester, students should consider if the reduced study load would lead to deferral of graduation and the possible consequence of failing to extend their stay in Hong Kong.
