Professor Jian Lu is the Vice-President (Research and Technology) and Dean of Graduate Studies of City University of Hong Kong. He is also the Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Centre for Advanced Structural Materials.

Welcome Message

City University of Hong Kong has a very clear focus and sees research as one of the key elements in its strategy to become a leading university in the region.

Prof. Jian Lu (personal bio) is currently serving as the Vice-President (Research and Technology) (VPRT). The Office of VPRT provides leadership and oversees strategic research-related offices, including Research Grants Office, Knowledge Transfer Office and Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies in order to cultivate a strong team-based research environment with focus in the three research pillars: One Health, Digital Society and Smart City in University’s five-year plan. The Office motivates and brings together its research expertise to extend the frontiers of knowledge within and beyond existing research disciplines to contribute to the solutions to real world problems and critical global challenges.
