For admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine programme, applicants must have a passion for animal health and welfare and high levels of achievement in English, chemistry and mathematics (in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, International Baccalaureate, General Certificate of Education, or equivalent). Study of biology would be an advantage, and also physics if possible. International Baccalaureate students considering applying for entry in 2019 or beyond should enroll in a Higher-Level English and in Higher-Level Chemistry at diploma level. If an applicant has not attended English Medium of Instruction school the 'Language Acquisition' subject must be an English subject. An applicant who has attended English Medium of Instruction schools must present an English subject in the 'Language Acquisition' group OR an English subject in the 'Studies in Language and Literature' group.
Applications from mainland Chinese will be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, applicants will need to be able to demonstrate high levels of competence in chemistry and mathematics and a TOEFL score of 600 (paper-based test) or 100 (Internet-based test), or an IELTS overall band score of 7 and 7 in each category.
