Terms of Services

  • CREATE! is free for use by all CityU students, staff of programmes leading to CityU awards including associate degree, bachelor's degree and postgraduate degree.
  • The facility in CREATE! must be checked out and used during service hours. The facilities include workstations right next to the facility.
  • Reservations are limited to a maximum of 8 hours per week.
  • Bookings can be made up to 5 days in advance.
  • To ensure fair access to all eligible users, the facilities are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The check-out operation also includes the use of laptop next to the equipment.
  • The equipment should be used only for lawful purposes. No one will be permitted to use the equipment to create digital objects that are against the law, obscene, in violation of another’s intellectual property rights.
  • All booking requests are subject to approval based on scheduling and availability. The Library reserves the right to refuse any requests for any reason.
  • All users should obtain certificate to operate the equipment as specified in CREATE!.
  • All users should follow the safety rules and operational guidelines when handling the equipment. Any violation of the safety rules and operational guidelines are any disciplinary penalty from the Library.
  • The performance of the equipment in CREATE! is advanced and powerful. However, the Library will not guarantee any computing performance requirement from the user.
  • The users are responsible for the data generation and backup and the Library will not be responsible for any loss of data and program in the system.
  • Users should operate the equipment and facilities with due care and report any defect or damage to the Library staff. Users shall be liable for any loss of or damage arising from negligence, unintentional act or any other cause within the reasonable control of the users. In the event of any loss of or damage to the facilities/equipment for which the users is liable, users shall reimburse the total cost to making good the damage or effecting replacement.
