Eligibility and Award

• All full-time academic staff members with a minimum of one year full-time service at CityUHK at the time of the nomination deadline and holding an appointment of not less than one year from the anticipated date of the award are eligible.
• There are two categories of the PREA:
• (a) CityUHK Presidential Research Excellence Award - To be eligible for the award, candidates should be full-time regular CityUHK faculty at Chair Professor rank or below.
• (b) CityUHK Presidential Research Excellence Award for Junior Faculty - To be eligible for the award, candidates should be full-time regular CityUHK faculty at Associate Professor rank or below at the time of the nomination deadline.
• A candidate can only be nominated for either (a) or (b) of the above awards in the same year.
• Recipients of the same PREA award (formerly known as Outstanding Research Award) in the last three years are not eligible.
• Total 5 awards for Outstanding Research Awards and Outstanding Research Awards for Junior Faculty will be given every year.
• Each awardee will receive a trophy, a cash award of HK$15,000 and a research grant of HK$150,000.
