ABSTRACT

Wave-based imaging in complex media has important applications in medical imaging, nondestructive testing, and seismology for instance. In this talk we consider direct and inverse problems related to wave propagation in complex media. The modeling of complex media by random processes and the use of multiscale analysis allow us to study the statistics of the wave field. These results, in turn, enable us to design and characterize imaging algorithms that can use the noisy signals recorded by sensor arrays to obtain an image of the unknown medium.
