Objectives

The optimization researchers in Hong Kong have made progresses in discrete optimization, nonlinear optimization, a stochostic optimization and application. It is the time to exchange ideas and report results with overseas researchers. To exchange ideas and report progresses in optimization to discuss research topics in discrete optimization, nonlinear optimization, stochastic optimization and applications. In addition, the workshop is dedicated to Professor M J D Powell, Honorary Professor, Department of Mathematics, City University of Hong Kong, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, in recognition of his mathematical achievements and of his dedication to the mathematical community.
