City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is committed to providing students with diverse opportunities and an international learning environment through partnerships with top universities worldwide.

On 27 November 2025, CityUHK’s College of Engineering and CentraleSupélec, Paris-Saclay University (CentraleSupélec) signed an agreement to launch a Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme (JBDP) in the 2026/27 academic year, aiming to offer young students worldwide greater options and pathways to pursue careers in engineering. The JBDP includes nine undergraduate programmes from the College of Engineering, CityUHK and CentraleSupélec’s Bachelor of Engineering in Innovation Engineering and Entrepreneurship. Students can choose to complete the first two years at CityUHK or CentraleSupélec, then transfer to the other institution to complete the remaining two years. Graduates will be awarded degrees from both institutions.

Starting from the 2026/27 academic year, eligible non-JUPAS applicants can apply directly to the JBDP through CentraleSupélec. It is also applicable to students of CityUHK’s Bachelor of Engineering inInnovation and Enterprise Engineering. Professor Lee Chun-sing, Provost and Deputy President of CityUHK, expressed his delight in seeing the two institutions further deepen their partnerships to nurture more global talents. He stated that CityUHK strives to offer outstanding students from around the world opportunities to pursue advanced studies at top universities globally. He was confident that this JBDP will further enhance students’ international perspectives and nurture more future talents for the global engineering community.

Professor Lu Jian, Dean of the College of Engineering, CityUHK, remarked, “This programme emphasises innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross-disciplinary thinking. By immersing themselves in diverse cultures, students can cultivate diversified mindsets and problem-solving skills, enhancing their competitiveness in the global market.”

Mr Romain Soubeyran, Director of CentraleSupélec, added, “As a forward-looking engineering school, we train engineers called upon to think big and act promptly. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with CityUHK, so students from both universities can benefit from the professional knowledge and cultural heritage of both places and unleash their innovative potential.”

With CentraleSupélec as one of the most renowned engineering schools in France, and CityUHK’s College of Engineering being widely recognised, the JBDP is more than just an overseas exchange programme. Students can immerse themselves in cultures across Europe and Asia, as well as engage in multidisciplinary learning that emphasises innovation and entrepreneurship.

Ms Camélia Aissat, Attachée for Scientific and Academic Cooperation, Deputy Consul for Culture, Science, and Education, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, and Professor Franck Richecoeur, Dean of Studies and Provost of CentraleSupélec, also attended the ceremony.
