ACE hosts Innovative Transport Device Competition for secondary school students
On 21st March 2026, the ACE Department hosted an incredible Innovative Transport Device Competition for some serious and talented secondary school students! The challenge was to design and build a device of any material that can transport 3 cans of soft drink up a slippery slope in under 60 seconds. It wasn’t just about completing the task—it was about creativity, smart use of materials, bespoke energy and mechanical systems, environmental friendliness and aesthetics. We were blown away by the "out-of-the-box" solutions these young engineers brought to the table. The future of our industry is looking bright!
We were honoured to have Prof Chan Chi Hou, Vice President (Community Engagement), to officiate the opening of the event; Mr Chan Hong, Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Technology Education) of the Education Bureau, to present awards; and Prof. Dai Jianguo, Head of ACE, to cheer up the teams together with some faculty members throughout the competition.
Thumbs up to all the participants for their energy and brilliant ideas, and congratulations to the outstanding teams who won the prizes!
