Prof. Jonathan J. Wylie's research is focused on fluid mechanics, granular materials and other industrially motivated problems. He obtained his PhD and was subsequently awarded a Junior Research Fellowship from King's College, Cambridge. Before coming to CityU he spent time in Cornell University, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the University of Toronto. He has worked extensively on the fluid mechanics of viscous threads and the dynamics of coupled partial differential equations. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) of USA, the Australian Research Council and the Research Grant Council (RGC) of Hong Kong. He is an associate editor of the "IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics.
