ACE student awarded JC STEM Early Career Research Fellowship for Translation and Application (2025/26)
Congratulations to Dr. Theo Y.C. Lam, who has been awarded the JC STEM Early Career Research Fellowship for Translation and Application (2025/26). His project, “Novel Micro-aerated Anaerobic Digestion (MAAD) with AI-Guided Oxygen Control for Advanced Energy-Positive Sludge Treatment,” supervised by Prof. Amy TAN, will develop an intelligent oxygen-control strategy to improve sludge treatment and renewable-energy recovery. Through a academia-government–industry collaboration, involving CityUHK, Drainage Service Department, and Halcrow China Limited/Jacobs Engineering, the research aims to advance more sustainable and energy-positive wastewater treatment in Hong Kong and worldwide.
