ACE PhD Students Win Best Paper Awards at International Conference
Congratulations to Ms. Qian MA and Ms. Yini FAN, PhD students from the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ACE), who have each been awarded the Best Paper Award at a prominent international academic conference for their outstanding contributions to micro-scale urban wind modelling.
Ms. MA received the award for her paper, titled “Impacts of Building Resolution and Terrain Representation on the Dynamic Downscaling WRF-LES Simulations of Micro-scale Urban Wind Flow.” Ms. FAN was also honoured for her paper, titled “Assessing Microscale Strong Wind Exposure in Hong Kong: A WRF-PALM and Observational Study during a Full Typhoon Evolution.” Both studies were supervised by Prof. ZHENG Xing.
By addressing critical challenges in urban wind safety, both studies contribute significantly to the development of safer, more resilient built environments in the face of increasingly extreme weather events.
