With increasing demand on housing and the shortage of labour in the construction industry, there is an urgent need to improve the productivity of the building and construction industry. The use of modular integrated construction (MIC) technology for housing development is gaining increasing importance.

The theme of the Hong Kong Concrete Institute 2018 Seminar is "Advanced Concrete Technology for Modular Integrated Construction". With speaker from renowned academics, government officials and practitioners, the Seminar will address a wide variety of topics covering the regulation, design, use of concrete materials, and the development of specialized and advanced types of concrete for MIC.
