The College of Biomedicine commenced operations on 1 January 2025 to anchor CityUHK’s health education and medical innovation — grouping the Departments of Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience, and supporting Hong Kong’s drive to become an international health and medical innovation hub.
The University welcomed back its beloved “Professor Paws” programme for the 11th consecutive year, with over 1,000 students joining the therapy dog initiative organised with Animals Asia to enjoy moments of comfort, joy and stress relief.
CityUHK’s One Health model links animal, human and environmental health through the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and the Master of Public Health; at the Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum 2024 the University signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with the China CDC and the medical faculties of CUHK and HKU to strengthen pandemic preparedness.
Co-organised by Times Higher Education and CityUHK’s Institute of Digital Medicine, Digital Health Asia 2025 convened healthcare, academic, government and technology leaders on digital-health innovation, AI, healthy ageing and telehealth — the first time THE’s Digital Health series was held in Asia.
Over 750 CityUHK runners joined the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2025, including 12 Inclusion Run teams pairing CityUHK runners with students from Mary Rose School and TWGHs Chi-Li Pao School.
Launched with China Hongqiao Group, Yan Chai Hospital and District Health Centres, the Cerebro-Cardiovascular (C2) Health Guardian Programme provides free cardiovascular and brain-health screenings to 5,000 residents in public and transitional housing across Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Sha Tin and Tsuen Wan.
A Community Yoga Fun Hour and Open Day at the Lee Shau Kee Student Residence Village drew around 130 people to a large yoga session and 500+ attendees to health checks, performances and games — including eight hearing-impaired participants from the Hong Kong Society for the Deaf — promoting wellbeing and social inclusion.
