Ongoing Initiatives

CityUHK–Columbia joint degrees open to direct Year 1 entry

From 2026/27, high-school students worldwide can apply directly into the CityUHK–Columbia University partnership, which now spans 12 four-year dual-degree options — two years at CityUHK, two at Columbia — across Computer Science, Global Business, International Relations and Global Affairs, Psychology and Public Affairs and Management, with dedicated academic advisors at both institutions. Columbia is one of the overseas partners in the joint bachelor’s scheme, alongside ESSEC Business School, Leuphana University, National Taiwan University, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester and CentraleSupélec.

Global learning beyond semester exchange

CityUHK offers a wider international portfolio alongside the exchange programme: summer programmes such as CityUHK Discovery@World, study tours, non-local internships through the Global Work Attachment Programme and Overseas Internship Scheme across the Greater Bay Area, East Asia, Australia and Oceania, Europe and North America, and the Cultural and Language Immersion Scheme for overseas language immersion.

Community Engagement

CityUHK-led sessions at the Global Sustainable Development Congress 2025

Day 1 sessions engaged over 100 participants on climate adaptation, marine biodiversity and ocean protection, and blue bonds and sustainable finance, with partners including UNEP, UNESCO and the University of Exeter. On Day 3, CityUHK delivered four University-led sessions on green workforce development, university–industry–government collaboration, photovoltaic technologies and transformational leadership toward carbon neutrality by 2050.

First MoU with the Hong Kong United Youth Association

CityUHK and HKUYA agreed to jointly develop youth leadership and capacity-building, anchored by a "Youth Leader Training Series – Politics and Public Administration Class" run by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Signed by Professor Alfred Ho, Dean of CLASS, and Dr Lam Ho-yi, HKUYA President.
