Fees & Payments (Kowloon Tong Compound) – Shared Units

1. The licence fees of Master’s Degree Students for 2026/27 is listed as below

   *Due to site variation and building requirements, the units in different halls slightly vary in size and furniture configuration.

   **Fees and Payment:
   There is no refund of the licence fee for Withdrawal/ early check-out, even if applicants decide not to join CityUHK.

   ***Number of units are tentative, which subject to final units availablitiy.

   
   

   1. Early Withdrawal –
      There are no early withdrawal for Shared Units.
   
   
   2. Check Out upon Completion of Study / Termination of Study / Withdrawal of Study / Suspension of Study/ Interruption of Study/ Leave of Absence

      Residents are required to inform the Student Residence Office and move out of the hall upon any one of the following conditions:

      • change of funding source
      • completion of the normal period
      • completion of study
      • exchange programmes
      • expiry of the assigned period
      • leave of absence
      • interruption of study
      • termination of study
      • withdrawal of study
      • suspension of study
      • any cases that result in inactive/part-time student status
      • visa expired

All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.

2. Administrative and Penalty Charges

   Administrative Charge Administrative charge ($300) will be charged separately for those special requests approved by Student Residence Office.

   Damage to Hostel and Properties Compensation to the University for damage caused to the Student Residence and properties will be based on assessment by the Director of Student Residence Office in consultation with the Directors of Facilities Management and Finance Office, having regards to the cost of properties repaired and replaced as appropriate.

   Penalty Charges for Late Check-Out and Improper Check-out Penalty charges will be levied when: (i) Residents fail to check out their rooms upon the completion of the assigned period. (ii) Residents who fail to clean up their rooms properly. (iii) Residents who fail to restore the furniture upon check-out. The exact penalty charges will be determined by the Student Residence Office in consultation with Finance Office. Penalty charges on: Late Check-out: HK$200/day/person + unit charges/day/person Improper Check-out: A minimum of HK$200/bed

   Lost/Damaged Resident Card Resident Card: HK$100 per card
