Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law

Visiting Fellow Programme

Introduction

The Visiting Fellow Program of the Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law welcomes visiting scholars from China and elsewhere whose research makes an innovative contribution to the understanding of Chinese and comparative law. Visiting Fellows typically spend not more than one year in residence to improve and complete their working papers in progress and present them at the Centre.

Although visitors could apply by invitation of a member of the Centre, the Program welcomes unsolicited proposals for high-quality research that stands to benefit from participation in the Program. The Program welcomes applications for research projects that are unusual, or have not yet found mainstream acceptance among legal scholars in China and elsewhere.

The Program provides visitors with working space (subject to availability) and access to CityU's library. In addition, our visitors may audit one or two Law School courses on a non-credit basis after they have received permission from the professor. The intellectual richness of the experience is deepened through participation in the seminars, conferences and other academic activities of CCCL and the School of Law..

Application

Any person who is interested in becoming a CCCL Visiting Fellow should complete the application form below and submit it together with a curriculum vitae, a description of the proposed research (including the working paper in progress and a work plan for the period in residence at the Center), as well as a cover letter describing how the applicant will benefit from a period at the Center to: Director, Visiting Fellow Program, Center for Chinese and Comparative Law, School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon, Hong Kong, or by email to lwrccl@cityu.edu.hk. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by email.
