1. Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁)

This is the first and largest royal palace built during the Joseon Dynasty. This is located at the heart of Seoul. Visitors can also visit the National Palace Museum of Korea and the National Folk Museum of Korea as they are located on the palace grounds.

2. N Seoul Tower

It was built as Korea's first integrated transmission tower beaming television and radio broadcasts across the capital. The tower's main attractions include multi-colored digital art projected onto the tower at night, a digital observatory, a roof terrace, the HanCook restaurant, the n.Grill restaurant, and the Haneul (Sky) Restroom.

3. Hongdae (홍대)

Hongdae is the scene where Korean culture, both pop and indie, manifests, especially at night. This is filled with clothing shops, accessory shops, clubs, and theaters. You can easily get to Yeonnam-dong(연남동).

4. Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP)

Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is the newest and most iconic landmark of the Korean design industry. Located at the center of the Dongdaemun area, the DDP serves as a key venue for design-related shows and conferences, exhibitions, and other events and gatherings.

5. Yeouido Hangang Park (여의도 한강 공원)

This park is the most important physical landmark in the city, dividing the north and south. This is popular for Yeouido’s Spring Flower Festival and The Seoul International Fireworks Festival. Visitors can take a walk and rent a bike or in-line skates and enjoy chicken and beer with friends and family.

6. Lotte World and Lotte World Tower (롯데월드, 롯데월드타워)

Lotte World is a major recreation complex located in downtown Seoul. Lotte World Tower is the tallest building and one of architectural crown jewels in Korea. It has department stores, movie theaters, aquarium and the largest observation deck in Korea. There is Seokchon Lake Park (석촌호수공원) near these two landmarks. Visitors can relax and stroll along the water.

7. Bukchon Hanok Village (북촌 한옥마을)

This is situated in between Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and Jongmyo. This area is designated as one of the main places in Seoul where there is a large concentration of traditional Korean homes (hanok). This well-preserved modern hanok is a popular filming location for TV dramas and movies. Many historical sites and cultural properties are also packed in this area, automatically making it a street museum of sorts.

9. Garosu-gil (가로수길)

This is a two-lane road stretching from Sinsa-dong to Apgujeong-dong, lined with ginkgo trees. Here you can find creative clothing and accessories made by talented young designers. Large shops with multiple foreign brands give shoppers the chance to take in fashion trends from all over the world, and one might even be lucky enough to catch a really special deal in the flea markets that spring up occasionally in the area.
