Dr Kai Liu recently joined the Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health as Assistant Professor in Animal Welfare, Ethics and Behaviour.
Kai joined us from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, USA, where he was a postdoctoral researcher mainly focused on using engineering and machine learning techniques to monitor and assess behaviour, health, welfare, and reproductivity of sows.
He will contribute to the teaching in the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine programme and conduct research in the area of precision livestock farming, mostly in poultry and swine production systems.
