Academic Learning

Student Advising

Each entering student will be assigned one academic staff member as Advisor and one experienced student as Student Mentor by his/her College/School. The student must meet his/her Advisor at least once a semester during the first two years of study for advice on, for example, course selection, programme selection, study skills, and professional development.

Gateway Education

Gateway Education (GE) broadens the undergraduate curriculum by equipping students with the generic skills and interdisciplinary knowledge required for academic success and problem-solving in a complex world. GE, in essence, augments and rounds out the specialised training students receive in their majors by enabling them to achieve a breadth of competencies and knowledge through exposure to multiple disciplines. For details about the GE requirement and the choices of GE courses, please visit here.
