President's Welcome

I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome you all to City University of Hong Kong (CityU) as you embark upon the next phase of your academic journey.

I am delighted you are joining the CityU family and I hope you will thoroughly enjoy your undergraduate experience with us.

Regrettably, we won't be seeing too many faces on campus at the start of the 2020/21 academic year.  We are conforming strictly to government measures to help control public health issues related to Covid-19.  This means Semester A will be delivered primarily in a real-time interactive online format through Zoom via Canvas.

This platform, as you have heard, is called CityU-Learning, and we consider ourselves experts in this format! We were the first local university, and perhaps in the world, to implement real-time online learning after the pandemic forced everyone to switch from face-to-face learning to online classes.

So while communities around the world continue to fight back against Covid-19, our world-class faculty will continue to deliver excellent academic programmes, ensuring that your tertiary education runs as smoothly as possible and you graduate on schedule.

With your thirst for learning and knowledge, and our dedication to teaching and research, I anticipate we will grow stronger together.

Learning, no matter where you are in the world, is an exciting, inspiring, and rewarding experience.  Let's learn together and thrive!
