ABSTRACT

Understanding and controlling flow instability and turbulence is essential for advancing both scientific insight and engineering applications. In this talk, I will present how dynamical systems approaches can enable better understanding of complex flow dynamics. Focusing on viscoelastic flows, motivated by their potential for turbulence drag reduction, I will present new insights into transition mechanisms and bifurcation behaviour, supported by comparisons to experiment.
