Notes :

  1. Users may report any apparent malfunction of the copiers to the appropriate counters as indicated on the copiers.
  2. Users may report "lost and found" to the nearest counter. However, it is advisable to report also to the Security Counter as all the found items will be sent to the Security Counter on the same day.

Counter Services

Main Services Provided by the Circulation Counter

  • Enquiry :
    Enquiries about borrowing, course reserves, Library Cards, Interlibrary Loan Services, facility booking, Electronic ID issues and other circulation-related services.

  • Borrowing & Return :
    Borrowing and return of circulation books (including HKALL & ILL), accompanying materials, library resources requested from Shatin Storage, Closed Access materials, Curriculum Collection materials and other media resources reserved for specific courses.
  • Facility Booking :
    Lockable single/double Study Carrels are available for loan to staff and students of programmes leading to CityU awards. Bookings should be made online via the Library Facilities Booking System and keys must be obtained and returned to the Circulation Counter.
  • Library Cards & Membership :
    Application of Alumni Library Services, CityU spouse loan privileges, Friends of the Library Cards and Reader's Cards. Collection of JULAC Library Cards (online application only).
  • Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL) :
    Submission of ILL requests, collection and return of ILL materials, enquiries about the status of ILL requests, etc.
  • UGC Book Return :
    Returning of books borrowed from other UGC libraries with CityU-issued JULAC cards.
  • Forms Available :
    Semi-closed Reserve Book Request Form, Closed Access Collection Request Form, Reservation of Media Resources for Class Use Request Form, Spouse Loan Privileges Application Form, Interlibrary Loan Request Forms, UGC Book Return Form, Loss/Replacement of Library Card Form, Library Recommendation Form, Departmental Photocopying Request Forms, Special Collections & Archives Request Form.

Main Services Provided by the IT Help Desk

  • Enquiry :
    Information enquiry services related to the use of PC workstations, fast printing services and standalone databases in the Oval. Queries on the use of the equipment inside the Special Needs Rooms can also be directed to this counter.

  • Oval and Information Space workstations :
    Current CityU staff and students can use the PC workstations by logging in with their CityU Network Connection Account (i.e. the one for logging in PC workstations at CSC).
  • Facility Booking :
    Current CityU staff and students can use the PC workstations by logging in with their CityU Electronic ID. Advance booking for individual PC workstations is available to eligible students via the Library Facilities Booking System.

    Provide information and reference enquiry services to users, including reference services related to the use of the Law Collection.

    Borrowing of loose-leaf Law Reference materials for use inside the Library.

    Booking of the Room for Moot exercises.
