The Meta Quest 3 brings immersive virtual reality experiences to our library. Explore educational content, take virtual field trips, experience historical events, and more - all through the power of VR technology.
Virtual Reality Headset - MetaQuest 3 can provide the following features:
- High-Resolution Display: With nearly 30% more pixels than previous models, the Quest 3 offers crystal clear visuals that make learning more immersive and engaging.
- Wireless Freedom: No cables or external sensors needed. The Quest 3 is completely wireless, giving you freedom to move naturally in virtual spaces.
- Educational Experiences: Access hundreds of educational VR applications covering science, history, art, and more.
Eligible Users
All CityUHK students, staff of programmes leading to CityUHK awards including associate degree, bachelor's degree and postgraduate degree.
How to Use the Virtual Reality Headset at the Library
- Book the Virtual Reality Headset via the Booking System.
- Bring your CityUHK ID card to the IT Help Desk for verification.
- Help Desk staff will assist you and provide the device at the dedicated room.
- Put on the face & hair mask before use.
- Return the equipment to the IT Help Desk after use.

- History: Walk through ancient civilizations, witness historical events
- Science: Explore space, dive into the human body, conduct virtual experiments
- Art: Visit world-famous museums, create 3D art
- Career Exploration: Try out different professions in virtual environments
- Language Learning: Practice conversations in immersive settings
Booking Policy
- Each time slot is a one-hour session.
- Please note the booking quota of each service in CREATE!
- You are required to show up within the first 15 minutes for the session you have booked. Your reservation will be expired and automatically cancelled after 15 minutes.
- Reservations are limited to a maximum of 8 hours per week.
- Bookings can be made up to 5 days in advance.
- To ensure fair access to all eligible users, the facilities are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The facilities are intended for study, research, and lawful purposes only. No one is permitted to use the facilities for activities that are illegal, involve gambling, are obscene, or violate another person’s intellectual property rights.
- In case of accidents, user should report to the Library staff immediately.
- Loss and Damage of Library Materials
- All booking requests are subject to approval based on scheduling and availability. The Library reserves the right to refuse any requests for any reason.
Safety Guidelines
- Clear the play area of obstacles before starting
- Be aware of flashing lights or patterns in some VR content that may trigger seizures or other symptoms.
- Report any discomfort or dizziness to staff immediately
- Follow all instructions from library staff
